With deep regret we announce that on March 6, 2018, Professor Dr. Oleg Aramă, honorary member of the Institute, has passed away.
He started his mathematical career at our Institute, where he worked several decades, and became a key member (scientific secretary of the Institute).
Since 1970 he embraced the academic career, serving for the Medicine and Pharmacy University, where he became full professor. He is known there for laying the foundations of the mathematics applied in medicine.
His accomplishments were rewarded by numerous medals, prizes (e.g. of the Romanian Academy), distinctions and diplomas.
